Biomedical Engineering

Biomedicalab_bioquimical Engineering as a profession was regulated by the Federal Council of Engineering, Architecture and Agronomy - CONFEA, in 2008. With the regulation, some functions have to be exercised exclusively for professionals with degrees in Biomedical Engineering. For example, research and development of new equipment for the medical field and the specification and management of technologies for the hospital.

Biomedical Engineering, which already exists in other countries for over 40 years, allows the technology to be applied for the benefit of Health, helping to save lives.

The course Inatel applies to the health sector, knowledge engineering, especially electronics and IT, which are the daily life of the institution for more than 40 years. Includes contents of Mathematics, Physics, Electronics, Computing, Telemedicine, Medical Informatics, Anatomy and Physiology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Biomechanics, Biomaterials and artificial organs, among others.

Biomedical Engineering includes the following areas:

- Instrumentation and Medical Engineering: study design and instrumentation (mainly electronic) sensors, implants, among others, to the area-dental healthcare.
Engineering Clinic or Hospital: certification in medical equipment and tests, projects, and implementing fitness facilities, advice on purchasing equipment, training and guidance of maintenance teams.
- Medical Informatics and Health Informatics: signal and image processing, development of computer systems to support devices and processes dedicated to Health.
Biomaterials and tissue engineering: cell culture and production of artificial organs and biological tissues. Development of implantable devices and nanostructures.

Telecommunication Engineering

labtelecomThe course of Telecommunication Engineering Inatel is structured so that, by technical and scientific, enable the engineer to develop and use in their area and with competence, resources, tools and mechanisms for technical and technological development and propose solutions to problems of society. From his work depends on the entire network of telephony, data transmission, computer networks, radio and television, and electronic equipment used in communications systems.

This professional works in concessionaires of telecommunication services, fixed and mobile telephony, structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure.
